Some Time Together with Girl on Sunday

Welcome to Some Time Together, a new video journal series by Together at Last. It’s a space to celebrate creatives, founders, friends, and the brands we think are doing things a little bit differently.

For Episode Two, we spent the afternoon with Sally, the founder of Girl on Sunday.

Girl on Sunday began with a common problem, Sally couldn’t find the kind of pyjamas she wanted to buy in Melbourne. Rather than compromise, she decided to make them herself.

She was told no more times than she can count — that manufacturing locally wasn’t possible, that the costs were too high, that her goal wasn’t realistic. But she refused to take no for an answer. Today, every piece is proudly manufactured here in Melbourne.

This decision wasn’t just about geography, it was about values. Sally has worked tirelessly to create a brand that reduces waste at every step, cutting down on unnecessary packaging, plastics, and excess. Her design and production processes are guided by intention, with every detail and stitch reflecting her commitment to care, for people, for product, and for the planet.

Her inspirations largely pull from watching classic movies with her dad when she was younger and the timeless silhouettes of vintage fashion. Girl on Sunday is about creating pieces that will give you the same joy years later as they did the first time you pulled them from the drawer.
